U2A
USB sound card with Sample Champion
The
following plot reports the frequency response of the U2A (obtained
by means of a loop-back measurement and Sample Champion).

IMPORTANT:
to obtain correct results, the "AUTO Sample Rate"
selector in the U2A control panel must be disabled and
the frequency must be manually set to 48 kHz. The Analog
IN button of the Analog OUT selector, in the U2A control
panel, must be DESELECTED.

Sample Champion can then be used at the following sample rates:
- 48
Hz Recommended
-
44100 Hz NOT ALLOWED (even if play/rec permitted)
- 32000
Hz NOT ALLOWED (even if play/rec permitted)
- 24000
Hz OK (*)
- 22050
Hz

- 16000
Hz OK (*)
- 11025
Hz
OK (*)
- 8000
Hz

- 5000

(*)
When using these sampling rates in Sample Champion, the Output
% Level value (Settings/General) MUST be less than 45%,
in order to avoid distortion.
NOTE:
In the U24 soundcard the sampling
rate problem has been resolved: 48000, 44100 and 32000 Hz sample
frequencies are allowed in the U24.
This
sound card has a behavior similar to that of the SBLive (see
FAQ#2 about this topic).
And
here follow some comparision tests between measurements performed
with an U2A sound card and a Type I Level Meter Analyzer
Larson Davis 2900B.

Loudspeaker
measurement. Narrow band analysis: Larson Davis FFT resolution
= 800 points. Software resolution (U2A) = 1024 points

1/3
Octave Analysis. Difference between values measured with the
Larson Davis and with the U2A (dB)
The
results are quite good!
